In many ways it resembles a tropical rain forest – with its verdant foliage and variety of bird life – the difference being these trees are supported by a water supply from underneath rather than by abundant rainfall.

Lake Natron is a wild and remote area which lies in the North part of Tanzania between the Ngorongoro Highlands and Serengeti Plains. The area situated at the base of Africa’s active volcano mountain you just climbed. It is also known as Mountain of God. Lake Natron is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. Home to millions of tiny crustaceans, the lake is a haven for literally thousands of lesser flamingo’s and it is one of the most important breeding grounds on earth. The attraction of the area is the landscape rather than animal viewing because the area around lake Natron is dry and desolate. Dinner and overnight at lake Natron. Website: www.moivaro.com
