Help Children While Visiting Tanzania to Climb Kilimanjaro

We support the local people and communities we work in. You can join us in helping children while visiting Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro. We support a local Orphanage near Kilimanjaro, close to the Kilimanjaro International Airport.

1). Who can you Support? 

Fortune Kids and Education Foundation Orphanage Center was established on 13^th February 2016. All the children are less than five years old. It is located under the slope of mount Meru in the Arusha region, Meru District, Nshupu Village.  This is  25km from  Kilimanjaro International Airport, near the USA river Leganga (Dar es salaam Arusha  Road), 3km  from Leganga to the center via DikDik , Ngarasero road.

2). Give Hope to Children in Need 

The purposes of the Fortune Kids and Education Foundation Orphanage Center is to give back happiness and hope for these children who have lost it.  It is our goal to help ensure they have a good education and a bright future. The center deals with children from harsh environments, including poor and single parented children.  It also supports orphans who cannot meet the basic needs of life, such as food, shelter and clothing.

3). Aims of the Center

The orphanage has set out the following goals for the coming years.  They want to try and develop and try and generate more funding and support for these local children.

a). To care for orphans/ street children who have no one to take care of them.

b). To provide nursery and daycare studies and education to sharpen the idle mind.

c). Looking for scholarships and sponsors for the children to develop their education.

d). To support children to acquire an education so they can achieve their dreams and live a better life.

e). To socialize and re-socialize children through games and various sport activities.

f). To educate children about the need to integrate orphans into society without discrimination against them.

g). Counseling and guidance for orphans and street children.

4). The Main Aim of the Orphanage

To assist orphans until they finish their college education so that they can be upstanding citizens and achieve their own dreams and function well in society.

5). Challenges Facing the Fortune Orphanage

a). Financial problems, the cost for running the center and providing all services to the children often become a challenge.

b). Insufficient space to accommodate all the children who need care.

c). Poor infrastructure and social services. The orphanage has no running water or electricity. All the children need medical care and the older ones need schooling.

6). Evaluation of how to Run the Center

Continuing funds are needed to feed each child. The facility needs better accommodation, transport and medical. It costs $300 per week to make sure 10 orphans have very basic needs met.  It costs $300 per month for a teacher. To have a nurse and assistant costs $700 per month.  Plus transport, equipment and continued development.

7). Current Source of Income 

The orphanage gets money through donations from friends which is only 20% of all running costs. They need 80% of all running costs to bridge the gap.

8). In Conclusion 

They do not just take care of the physical needs of children who have lost their parents, although many are in desperate need of food and medical care. They offer them love and hope.  The team at the orphanage want the children to grow up knowing that people care about them and believe each of their young lives matters, and we invite you to join our “family” and help us change the world one orphan at a time.
